Distance award schemes
Not everyone enjoys racing and competition, and we believe the way to motivate young people to exercise more is to reward what they achieve.
Junior scheme

The Junior Scheme recognises everyone who completes certain distances on the rower, and rewards the perseverance of pupils who might not otherwise be placed in a competition.
It's aimed mainly at Key Stage 2 and SEN pupils, but anyone can use it to get started. The certificates start easily and lead pupils on towards the Youth Scheme.

Youth scheme
To work towards a Youth Distance Award, keep a training log and fill it in after each session. When the chosen distance is complete, get the log signed by a gym instructor, coach or teacher, then send the first and last pages to Indoor Sport Services with the rower's name and address, and a reward and certificate will follow in the post.
The Million Metre Club rewards rowers who use the machine month after month and year after year. You don't need to be fast to join, just determined, and everybody who reaches a milestone receives an award. It doesn't matter how long it takes you to get there, because this is one where taking part really is what counts.
